These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern your use of the Bruin Capital Advisory website (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Who we are
Bruin Capital Advisory ("BCA," "we," "us") is a student-run organization at the University of California, Los Angeles. BCA is not UCLA. See the Disclaimer for more on our relationship with the university.
2. Use of the Site
You may view and use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:
- Use the Site in any way that breaks a law or regulation;
- Try to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its hosting, or related systems, or disrupt them;
- Scrape, copy, or republish Site content in bulk, or use it for commercial purposes, without our written permission;
- Pretend to be BCA or any of its members, or misstate your connection to us.
3. Intellectual property
The Site's content, including text, reports, newsletters, the BCA name, and our logo, belongs to BCA or its member authors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may share links to the Site and quote short excerpts with clear credit to "Bruin Capital Advisory." Anything beyond that needs our permission. Names, logos, and marks of other companies and institutions that appear on the Site belong to their owners, and their appearance does not mean they endorse us.
4. Submissions
If you send us materials, such as an application, you confirm that they are accurate and that you have the right to share them. We handle personal information in submissions as described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Third-party links
The Site may link to sites and services we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Reports and newsletters are written by students, may contain errors, and may go out of date.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BCA, its officers, members, and volunteers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or investment value, arising from your use of the Site or reliance on its content.
8. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold harmless BCA and its officers and members from claims arising from your misuse of the Site or your breach of these Terms.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts in Los Angeles County, California.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms at any time by posting a revised version on this page. If you keep using the Site after a change, you accept the revised Terms.
